Rosa Scruggs Olson is a native of Huntsville, Alabama, and was raised in the Toney community where she attended junior high school and then went on to attend Councill Training School becoming a member of the class of ‘56’. She continued her education at Alabama A&M University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She later received a Master of Science from the University of California at Sacramento and her Doctorate in Special Education from Coast University. Rosa’s employment ranged from teaching elementary, junior high, high school and graduate school in Alabama, Illinois, Texas, North Dakota, and California. Rosa has traveled extensively on all continents except Antarctic and to all states except Vermont and New Hampshire. In her leisure time, Rosa enjoys playing golf, bridge, reading, playing Scrabble and Yahtzee, singing and playing in the Handbell Choir. She is the proud mother of a daughter.
